Abstract

The molecule of the title compound, C11H8N2, is approximately planar (r.m.s.deviation for all non-H atoms = 0.023Å). The malononitrile C-C-C angle is 113.54(13)°. In the crystal, molecules stack head-to-tail along [010]. There are no significant intermolecular interactions present.
