Abstract

Sleeping is one of life's necessary requirements in order to maintain physical and emotional health. Insomnia, whether transient or chronic, can have major consequences with respect to a person's day-to-day functioning. There are numerous pharmacological and nonpharmacological ways in which to treat insomnia, and as with most disorders, a holistic approach is usually more successful than any one intervention used on its own.
