Abstract

The objective of this article is to present data from a recent study about processes that legitimize young artists, which reveal the profile of artists selected for artistic events that contribute to the construction and legitimation of careers in the field of art. The study begins with the question: do women artists currently face the same forms of exclusion as in the past, when they experienced processes that left their work invisible in the field of art? Data are presented concerning the legitimation of young female artists by six public call for projects and one award process in Brazil.
