Abstract

The iterative wavelet based feature extraction (IFE) algorithm for texture segmentation was discussed. The algorithm iteratively search and select for an overcomplete wavelet feature vector based on the aspect ratio of extrema number (AREN). The algorithm performs feature selection and window based AREN feature extraction simultaneously.
