Reviews the efforts of the Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC), a voluntary AIDS organization, to disseminate comprehensive and scientifically accurate information about the multifaceted nature of AIDS and its far-reaching consequences to people with AIDS, their families, friends, and the general public. GMHC's services include publications that address medical and legal issues about AIDS, a Medical Information Program, multilingual AIDS information, and a hotline. GMHC's education program designs and evaluates AIDS risk-reduction programs, and the AIDS Prevention Program produces safer-sex workshops and forums that use small- and large-group formats for gay and bisexual men.
