Abstract

A simple spectrophotometric method without solvent extraction for the determination of reserpine by association complex formation with o-hydroxyhydroquinonephthalein and uranium(VI) has been established. This method could be used to determine 5-70 µg/10 ml of reserpine; the apparent molar absorptivity was 6.8 X 10 1 mol cm for reserpine at 535 nm. The method was applied to the determination of reserpine in pharmaceutical preparations. © 1984, The Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry. All rights reserved.
