This article examines the scientific production on environmental economic valuation published in international journals in the period from 2007 to 2011. Specifically (i) identifies the researchers who published on the subject in these journals; (ii) examines the social networks among researchers; (iii) verifies the most referenced authors in these articles. A descriptive research, through documental analysis, was conducted on international journals rated A1 in Qualis CAPES. Journals that allow full access to articles, in which the term environmental economic valuation was sought, resulted 728 articles from four journals. The results show that the authors Nick Hanley, G. Cornelis Van Kooten and Felix Schläpfer were the most prolific, each with six published articles. In the researchers' social network, using the software UCINET® 6.0, it was noticed that the network's central author is Dominic Moran, the network is not very dense and knowledge is generated by research groups and individually. The most commonly author mentioned by researchers is Robert Costanza. It is concluded that in the researched articles the most mentioned authors work in the sustainability and ecological economics' line of research, which raises new research, besides indicating paths in the research on environmental economic valuation.
