Abstract

The purpose of this manuscript is to present a reliable estimate of the Muslim population and its percentage in each country in Africa from 1950 till 2020. This data is summarized to be a reference for other studies and discussions related to the Muslim population. The presented data show that the percentage of World Muslim population with respect to the total World population has increased steadily from 17% in 1950 to 26% by 2020. While the total African population increased from 227 million in 1950 to 1,302 million by 2020, the percentage of Muslims in Africa decreased from 44% in 1950 to 41% by 2020.
