PERAN DINAS SOSIAL DALAM PENANGGULANGAN KEMISKINAN DI KOTA SUKABUMI

Abstract

Poverty is one among social problems in Sukabumi that targeted as social service in those Social Agency. Poverty reduction programme has been implemented, however, there is no data that can explain the extent to which the effectiveness of the program. Regarding those problems, then the research was conducted with the purpose of knowing the role of social service of Sukabumi in poverty reduction. The method that used is descriptive qualitative approach. The data and information gathered through structured interviews, documentary study of previous research results, reports and relevant literature, and observations. As an informant consists of social service officers and related sectoral agencies. The research results found out that the role of the social Office of Sukabumi in poverty reduction has not optimally reached the goal yet. This is due to the still limited number of and quality of human resources, the limitation of its budget, lack of coordination and also limitation of required infrastructure. Based on the research results, it is recommended to the social Office to strengthen coordination and synergy program with relevant agencies in the region, increase the intensity of the consultations with the social province agency and the central social institutions.
