Abstract
Phyllosomas of Jasus edwardsii were captured at night during June 3-6, 1988 off Gisborne, on the east coast of North Island, New Zealand, using a fine-meshed midwater trawl. A total of 490 phyllosomas were caught, of which 17 were transported by air to Sanriku, Japan. One stage IX phyllosoma molted 14, 35, 57 and 86 days and metamorphosed into puerulus 111 days after arrival.
