Abstract

From the leaves of Casearia sylvestris Sw., a Paraguayan and Brazilian medicinal plant, six new clerodane diterpenes have been isolated and their structures have been determined by 2-D NMR spectroscopy including INADEQUATE and 1H-13C long-range COSY. Two of them showed strong antitumor activity against Sarcoma 180 ascites in mice. © 1988, The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan. All rights reserved.
