Abstract

Field, greenhouse, and herbarium material of Australasian 3-foliolate species of Hydrocotyle was examined. New Zealand plants, formerly considered conspecific with Australian H. tripartira R. Br. ex A. Rich. are described as a new species H. sulcata Webb et Johnson. Two indigenous species are accepted, H. hydrophila Petrie, and H. sulcata; H. tripartita occurs in New Zealand but has been introduced only recently. The 3 species are described and illustrated. © 1982 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
