Abstract

Cites remifentanil has the highest therapeutic index of any opioid or anesthetic (33,000). remifentanil is the most forgiving, offering a therapeutic index of 33,000:1, while morphine is less so with a therapeutic index of 70:1. Diazepam, a benzodiazepine sedative-hypnotic and skeletal muscle relaxant has a less forgiving therapeutic index of 100:1
