Abstract

A clinical sequence that opens a crypt in terms of the model put forward by Abraham and Torok enables the analyst to consider the evolution of an ideal ego constructed on an uncompleted childhood mourning. The journey that leads this patient from this ideal ego to appropriate at the agency level a separate ego and superego free of the mastery of oedipal objects and a narcissistically necessary object is made in parallel with a newly possible mourning of the real traumatic loss of the mother.
