Abstract
Diabetic foot is one of the most frequent and important complications worldwide. In Mexico, it is estimated that 15-25% of diabetic patients will develop ulcers in the lower extremities. One of the diabetic foot complications is the amputation of the affected lower limb, in our country it is the main cause of non-traumatic amputation. In this context, it is important to establish a medical conduct based on the prevention and timely diagnosis of possible micro and macrovascular complications associated with diabetes mellitus, coupled with multidisciplinary management, the corresponding screening of all diabetic patients at the time of diagnosis and on an annual basis, where the extremities are valued in an integral way.
