Penggunaan Alat dan Perangkat Telekomunikasi dalam Sistem Navigasi dan Komunikasi Aktivitas Perikanan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Bitung

Abstract

The utilization of Information and Communication Technology can be manifested through the use of telecommunication devices and set of equipments in navigation and communication system of fishery activities. The utilization is the effort to improve the performance as an improvement trigger of the prosperity of fishery community. This research, used an exploratory qualitative approach and in-depth interview data collection, aims to study the navigation and communication system of fishery activities in Bitung Fishery Port, especially the telecommunication devices and set of equipments that are used. The results show that the operation of navigation and communication system of fishery activities in Bitung fishery port is still nonoptimal that the system runs partially. An inadequate of the equipment or device also causes the limitation and overlap in information acquisition. This condition also gives an effect to the lack of efficiency and optimalization in the excavation of fishery resources of Indonesia's sea. Hence it needs not only the integration of navigation and communication system but also the addition of telecommunication devices and set of equipments in fishery port of Bitung. The provision of telecommunication device such as HF Transceiver / HF or VHF Transceiver HT / VHF HT is also required.
