Abstract

Treatment of the terrible triad injury of the elbow remains a difficult problem. There are several ways to treat the radial head and coronoid fractures; controversy still exists regarding the best way to treat each. The purpose of this meta-analysis was to compare the clinical outcomes of radial head and coronoid fractures treated using current protocols. No differences in functional outcomes were found between the different surgical techniques. There is no superior current protocol for treating these injuries. Surgical treatment should be dictated by fracture type and surgeon experience. [Orthopedics.
