Abstract
The chemoselective catalytic oxidation of aliphatic and aromatic sulfides to sulfoxides (90-95%) using a buffered potassium peroxymonosulfate (Oxone) generated N-sulfonyloxaziridine is described. This oxidizing system is rapid and relativily insensitive to the reaction parameters and the structure of the sulfide. © 1988, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
