Abstract

The purpose of this study was to empirically examine real-world implementation of cyber-physical production systems in smart manufacturing. Building my argument by drawing on data collected from Ad Hoc Research, BDO, CIO, DAA, EY, IoT Analytics GmbH, McKinsey, and PwC, I performed analyses and made estimates regarding how companies want to deploy disruptive technologies (%), the biggest challenges in implementing Industry 4.0 solutions (%), and disruptive technologies that will enable digitization of the manufacturing sector (%). The structural equation modeling technique was used to test the research model.
