Abstract
A significantly lower incidence of the disease was recorded in pigs with amylase BB, alkaline phosphatase AB, prealbumin AB and BB, and Tf AB types than in pigs with amylase AB, alkaline phosphatase BB and BC, prealbumin AA and Tf BB types. A significantly lower incidence was also observed in pigs heterozygous for haemopexin types than in homozygous pigs, and in Hpx 1-1 homozygotes than in other types of homozygote. 1200 pigs were involved in the study.
