Abstract

This paper details the features and benefits of some new developments within the area of open-end spinning. Included within its review is the; Schlafhorst SE 10 spinbox for its Autocoro 288 open-end spinning system which offers an innovative solution for cost-efficient production of high-grade yarns down to 10 tex, at rotor speeds of up to 150 000 rpm, the Rieter R1 fully automatic rotor spinning machines that unite the most modern technology with the highest degree of automation, and the Savio FRS rotor spinning machine that is proving to be competitive in terms of yarn quality and flexibility.
