Abstract
The purpose of this study is to estimate the airborne sound insulation performance of partition walls with cross laminated timber panels (=CLT panels). Sound insulation experiments concerning CLT panel walls with and without narrow slits between CLT panels were carried out in the laboratory. From the results, practical prediction method for sound insulation of these CLT panel walls was proposed. Further to improve their sound insulation performance, double walls with additional gypsum board wall or CLT panel wall on sound receiving side of the CLT wall were also tested and evaluated.
