Abstract

Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a common problem in childhood. Depending on the age symptom can be very non-specific so the suspicion must be high. On the other hand, obtaining a urine sample in the best conditions is not always easy, especially in incontinent children. The main objective of the urinary tract infection early diagnosis is to avoid dissemination of infection, to reduce recurrence if risk factors exist and to avoid long-term complications such as renal failure and hypertension.
