Abstract

The influence of stimulus context on apparent duration was investigated using direct scaling procedures. The results indicate that the use of such scaling methods minimizes contextual effects in judged duration. The results also suggest that apparent duration is a continuous linear function of physical duration. © 1977, The Psychonomic Society, Inc.. All rights reserved.
