PENERAPAN METODE INKUIRI DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MENGANALISIS PUISI TERHADAP PENINGKATAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA KELAS VIII SMPN 4 SUNGAI RAYA TAHUN AJARAN 2021/2022

Abstract

The background of this research is determine the effect of the application of theInquiry method in learning analyzing poetry as an increase in student criticalthinking. The method of this research is experimental with a quantitative approachusing the design of the Modified Pretest-Posttest Group Comparison Design, usingtwo classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The techniqueused is observation techniques, interview techniques, documentation techniques,test techniques, and questionnaire techniques. The results of the study were knownthat the average result of the pre-learning learning method of the lecture was 59.73and the posttest 62.36. The average result of the pre-learning method of inquirymethod is 56.05 and the posttest 80.52. The inquiry method is superior inincreasing the cognitive aspects of students. This is evidenced by the uji t thatdifferences in significant cognitive realm competencies after treatment. Theapplication of the Inquiry method has a positive influence of 27.05% of the criticalthinking skills of Shiva in cognitive aspects in the learning of poetry analysis. Onthe other, students easier to understand the material and improve the competenceof language skills, then indirectly inquiry methods in learning poetry analysis canimprove students' critical thinking skills.Keywords: Poetry Analysis, Critical Thinking, and Inquiry Method
