Abstract
M ultidimensionality makes human beings hypercomplex, dynamic and polyvalent. The current health professionals' pers-pective on the patient facilitates loss of his/her life experiences. Quality nursing care requires global knowledge of the patient. Knowing about the patient's experiences, memories and opinions becomes essential when he/she is admitted in an intensive care unit. The aim of this work is to demonstrate the pertinence of assumptions regar-ding the paradigm of complexity in holistic assess-ment processes and analysis of life experiences of a patient whilst in intensive care.
