Abstract

It is found that a lithium loaded glass scintillator gives light pulses with different shapes if excited by the Li6 (n, α)H3 reaction products or by Compton electrons. This difference can be used, by means of the pulse-shape discrimination technique, to decrease the γ-ray detection efficiency with respect to the slow-neutron efficiency. © 1963.
