Abstract

This chapter explores both the intrinsic value and the extrinsic benefits found in the process of networking with senior leaders. This chapter reveals how strategic connections with influential figures not only provide insight into industry trends but also serve as a catalyst for social capital development, relationship-building, and organizational knowledge. This chapter underscores the need for organizations to strategically support networking and for employees to seek out networking opportunities to foster these ongoing personal and professional connections while providing networking examples for varying venues.
