Abstract

Fillers are used in nearly all polymers but disregarding thermosets and elastomers. The largest proportion (over 90 %) is confined to four classes of polymer: PVC, PP, PA and PET/PBT. Fillers are becoming increasingly important and their annual volume growth rate is in some cases higher than that of the fastest-growing plastics.
