Abstract

The research had as general objective to investigate the assessment of families regarding the results in the school life of their children, the special education policies implemented in the city of São Gonçalo/RJ from 2009. We conducted field research using semi-structured interviews, analyzed in terms of categorical analysis of Bardin. In the evaluation of mothers interviewed the results showed that the policy collaborate positively in the life of students, although isn’t universalized and evidence needs to better serve students with intellectual disabilities.
