Abstract

This paper presents the procedure for the analysis of general framed space structures, and rules for the determination of redundancy, stability, and statical determinacy. It is shown that practically any shape of framework as would be desired to enclose a given space can be arranged and braced so that it is rigid, stable, statically determinate and subject to rational analysis. The analysis consists of the solution by computer of a set of simultaneous equations, equal in number to the number of framing members.
