Abstract

Comments on the article by A. Faulkner and P. Thomas (see record 2002-12621-001) and on the article by P. Bracken and P. Thomas (see record 2001-17030-004) which discussed research and theories in psychiatry. The author states that their editorial, with its unsubstantiated statements, poor definitions, political banner-waving and lack of understanding of both science and the research process, is the antithesis of considered and evidence-based argument. P. Thomas and A. Faulkner provide a reply to his comments. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2002 APA, all rights reserved)
