Abstract

Global warming presents a phenomenon of a rise in the average temperature on earth, hence generating the melting polar ice, resulting in a rise in global average sea levels. This unexpected condition affects coastal areas hit by tidal floods. The paper aims to model tidal floods with 3D building visualization. The information on the number of affected buildings was utilized as a data collection of homeowners, providing a relocation plan or elevation of land on the residents of the affected buildings. The depth of flood inundation offers the benefits for the future utilization and development of rebuildingthe land. The projection of water level rise employing the basis of the 2007 IPCC report, stated that a global sea-level rise of 6 mm/year, summed up with a 20-year HHWL value of 1,05 m. The prediction of flood spread was analyzed based on the geographic information system (SIG), obtaining a sea-level rise of 1,11 m, 1.35 m, and 1,65 m, respectively, for 2030, 2070, and 2120. The distribution of the sea-level rise from the simulation results was utilized to map the affected areas and buildings. The prediction of a sea-level rise of 1,11 m affected an area of 485,87 ha and 1.127 units building. The projection of sea-level rise of 1,35 m affected an area of 897.30 ha and 1.432 units building. At last, the prediction of a sea-level rise of 1.65 m influenced an area of 1.083,06 ha and 1.735 units building.
