Abstract

This study aims to analyze the cost and income structure of palm sugar farming in Lubuk Bondar Village, Batang Natal District, Mandailing Natal Regency. Data were collected from March to April 2023 using a survey method on 28 palm sugar farmers selected through a simple random sampling technique. Data collection methods include questionnaires, direct observation, and in-depth interviews, as well as secondary data collection from literature and BPS publications. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression, F test, t test, and coefficient of determination (R²), as well as income analysis covering production costs, income, and farmer profits. The results showed that the majority of farmers were of productive age (31–40 years), had a high school education, had an average land area of ​​3 hectares, and had more than five years of farming experience. The average total production cost per hectare reached IDR 27,247,500.00, with income of IDR 60,625,000.00, resulting in an average income of IDR 33,377,500.00 per hectare per planting season. Conclusion, that palm sugar farming in the area is classified as profitable and worthy of further development.   Keywords: Farmer Income, Business Experience, Labor, Production Amount
