Abstract

The research results are reported; It was found that for effective process control under conditions of pressure application, it is necessary to press the casting volume by 8–10% before the crystallization start, and by 2–3% - at the moment of conversion from the liquid to the solid state. The technology based on pressure molding of a liquid metal prior to crystallization can be effectively implemented into production of castings from high-strength heat-hardenable aluminum alloys. The choice of technology parameters is proved, instrumentation, automation devices, control and software is justified. The issues about the choice of technological tooling and special equipment are considered. A process control and measuring system is proposed, a structure scheme for a hydraulic press control system with the possibility of programmatically pressure application on the crystallizing metal is developed. The dependence of formation of casting physical mechanical properties on the applied pressure magnitude is determined.
