Abstract
Snapshot simulations are obtained for the preindustrial, the mid-Holocene and the last interglacial time periods characterized by different atmospheric CO2 concentrations and orbital forcing. We evaluate the natural variability of vegetation cover, land carbon storage, and fire activity using a coupled climate-carbon cycle model.
