Abstract

Phase transformation of iron and steel material is divided into transformation of the diffusion type and the non-diffusion type, in this lecture notes and explains about thermodynamics and kinetics for the diffusion transformation. My book "phase transformation of metal" (1) authored 10 years have passed since, `` Mechanisms of Phase Transformations in Metals and Alloys '' (2), since publication summarizes the lecture contents of Aaronson Professor (mosquito Negimeron University) but recently, where and be taken up mainly the subsequent theoretical progress, it was kept in mind the description from different angles in theory for a long time. In such a policy, first as a target the pro-eutectoid ferrite transformation, of diffusion transformation local equilibrium, para equilibrium and ferrite (a) / austenite (g) interfacial energy, the second massive transformation and a / g interface of kinetic characteristics commentary of, third incomplete transformation of the kinetics and bainite of pearlite of the mechanism, the last fourth was selected the theme of basic theory of austenitizing speed.
