Condition Monitoring of Distribution Transformers

Abstract

Harmonics in distribution networks cause power quality problems that increase heat on transformer. This heat influence transformer performance. Distribution transformer condition monitoring avoids further consequences by continuously monitoring transformer performances. This paper proposes condition monitoring schema for distribution transformer within PLN network as the transformer capacity is small but its number is a lot. Harmonics, load and temperature are analysed to extract condition monitoring tendencyfor period of three months. Preliminary study shows that the proposed method suits the limited available data.
