Abstract
Server virtualization is a technology that utilizes the division of one server device into several virtual servers. One physical server, can be used to run several virtual servers at the same time. During the pandemic, many educational institutions had to adapt and start learning using online methods. Learning is done using e-learning. Moodle is an open source e-learning platform. In this study, two types of hypervisors were used to perform virtualization, namely Proxmox VE and VMWare ESXi. This study will install Moodle on a virtual machine created in each hypervisor. In the Moodle installation, Turnkey Linux Moodle is used as the base image. Data retrieval is carried out on virtual machines in both hypervisors. The test is carried out by taking the CPU Load, Memory Speed and Moodle Benchmark parameters. The data is taken using the Sysbench benchmark and the Moodle Benchmark plugin. From the test results, Proxmox VE excels in the CPU Load and Memory parameters, while VMWare ESXi excels in the moodle benchmark parameters.
