Abstract

The inspection of pathologies in a building is necessary for the diagnosis of the state of conservation, the operating conditions, the prediction of lifetime and the prior identification of faults for possible maintenance projects. This paper identified and analyzed the pathological manifestations in the roof and ceramic coatingsof an educational building in Presidente Epitácio, São Paulo. The results indicated that the incorrect sizing of the rainwater system allowed the accessof humiditythat contributed to the early appearance of other pathologies. Moreover, wasfound ahigh degree of detachment of ceramics in the wet areas of the building, which requires furtherteststo determine their causes.
