Abstract

Digital Transformation is emerging as a crucial factor for successful adaptation to the modern digital world for all possible economic and social entities. In recent years, cloud migration, cloud services and computing solutions adoption have been popular enablers for the Digital Transformation. During the Digital Transformation process, organizations and institutions face various technical challenges and implementation problems. This article explores the issues related to cloud migration and existing cloud service models. It investigates the advantages and disadvantages of the most popular cloud services offered by leading service providers, summarizes the main challenges in cloud migration processes, and how organizations can overcome them. Results help organizations understand the sources of potential technical challenges and implementation problems affecting cloud adoption and address these issues at an early stage of the initiative in order to reduce the threat of failure, avoid potential pitfalls and achieve desired cloud capabilities and business benefits.
