Abstract

Resting cells of several species of microorganisms removed neptunium (Np) from an aqueous solution. Concentrations of up to 15 mg Np per g cells (dry weight) were obtained. Maximum uptake by Micrococcus luteus occurred in less than 10 min. © 1988 Society for Industrial Microbiology.
