Identification, monitoring of the composition and wealth of species is indispensable in formulating management of fish resources, one of which is sharks and rays. The purpose of this study was conducted to determine the diversity of types, composition, long distribution, and conservation status of sharks and rays landed in PPS Lampulo Banda Aceh. The research was conducted in July 2020. Shark and stingray samples used are captured from the waters of the Indian Ocean and the Straits of Malacca with morphometric measurements of their total length performed on each grounded sample. The results of the study identified as many as 17 species for sharks and rays, where sharks consist of 9 families and rays consist of 7 families, then the conservation status of sharks and rays landed in PPS Lampulo Banda Aceh is classified as critical (sharks 1 species and rays 1 species), threatened (sharks 2 species and stingrays 4 species), vulnerable (sharks 7 species and stingrays 4 species) and almost threatened (sharks 5 species and stingrays 2 species). In addition, the conservation status of landed sharks is also classified as low risk (2 species), while stingrays are also inadequate information (2 species) and have not been evaluated (4 species) by the IUCN. Furthermore, the dominant composition of sharks landed are species L. macrorhinus and A. pelagicus (21.43%), C. punctatum (11.90%), and H. microstoma (08.33%), while the dominant composition of stingrays was R. australiae (23.19%), N. kuhlii (17.39%) and H. jenkinsii (13.04%), which based on the distribution of the total length of sharks and rays that are predominantly caught in the Indian Ocean and the Straits of Melaka is classified as immature.
