Sustainable Economy: Analysis of the Value Chain in SMES. Dosquebradas. Colombia

Abstract

This study focuses on analyzing the value chain in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Commune 12 in Dosquebradas, exploring the implementation of the Sustainable Value Chain Theory (SVCT). Thus, this research links Circular Economy and SVCT, proposing a comprehensive theoretical framework that integrates environmental, social, and economic aspects. The importance of Sustainable Supply Chain Management is emphasized in a context of high demand and limited resources. Challenges identified include a lack of commitment from top management and a scarcity of financial incentives. The methodology involves an experimental design and the application of a questionnaire based on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The results indicate that SMEs in Commune 12 exhibit environmental and social capabilities, but governance needs strengthening. Customers in the Guadalupe neighborhood show characteristics of conscious consumers. Furthermore, the sustainable value chain model underscores the importance of planning and policy integration with a sustainability vision.
