Abstract

It analyzes teaching practices and the knowledge in circulation of teachers education in Physical Education School of Espírito Santo in 1930's. It works with the concept of representation struggles and with the methodological possibilities of evidentiary paradigm. It uses, as sources, documents of the Permanent File of the Physical and sports education center of the Federal University of Espírito Santo (Cefd/Ufes). In the Physica Education School of Espírito Santo in 1930's, the objective was to enable the teachers of Espírito Santo to work with the French Method in state schools. For this purpose, the students were taught the new theories and new practices of Regulation No. 7 of Physical Education. Despite the presence of the military, the evidences left in the documents do not indicate the intention of militarizing the course or making classes sports based, but they indicate the pedagogical approach to the teaching content.
