Monitoring and evaluation tool to improve teacher performance

Abstract

This research analyzed the effectiveness of a new monitoring and evaluation tool for optimizing teaching performance, grounded in Wiggins' authentic assessment theoretical principles and Bandura's concept of self-efficacy. Through a quasi-experimental design with a quantitative approach, the study worked with a sample of 96 teachers, equally distributed between control and experimental groups. Data collection was conducted using a Likert scale, which demonstrated high reliability (α = 0.921). Initial results showed that 87% of participants exhibited low teaching performance. After implementing the tool, the experimental group showed significant improvement, with 70.83% of teachers achieving a high-performance level. Statistical analysis using the Mann-Whitney U test confirmed statistically significant differences between both groups, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed tool in enhancing teaching performance.
