Abstract

Technology is currently a big challenge for educational practitioners to innovate existing learning, especially in the development of teaching materials in elementary schools. The function of teaching materials is useful for teachers as a tool to convey material to students in order to achieve learning objectives. The purpose of this research is the design of augmented reality application development in learning mathematics in elementary schools. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques were obtained based on interviews, observations and documentation studies. The interviews conducted were structured interviews with instruments that had been prepared for interview guidelines. The observation used is the type of participant observation by being directly involved in the learning process with students and the study of documentation in this study was conducted to determine the teaching materials used in elementary schools. The results of this study are valid findings regarding augmented reality applications based on triangulation data analysis. Based on trials that have been carried out by researchers on elementary school teachers and students, the results are that this application is suitable for use in elementary schools with testing criteria from aesthetic aspects, content and application aspects, text and sound effects aspects as well as user convenience aspects in operating augmented reality applications. The impact of the development of this augmented reality application is that the teaching materials used are more diverse and interesting to use and can motivate students to be more enthusiastic in learning.
