Lightning risk in ICT society

Abstract

Lightning risk is one of the important problems in the modern ICT society. Based on the lightning hazard evaluation, lightning risk assessment should be carried out for establishment of lightning risk management. An example of lightning hazard map in Japan is shown and present status of lightning risk assessment methods is presented. © 2010 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.
