Abstract
First, do no harm "Primum non nocere" Bioethics as ethics for life includes all ethics. The problems arisen from human actions are related to moral issues and especially with the use of technology in contemporary society, as it increasingly happens in the age of techno- science we live in. The rapid advance of scientific and technological revolution and the use of animals in research, not always in a rational and ethical way, has led many researchers to worry about the fate of the species used for this purpose, so that in recent decades several studies about multiple regulations implementing ethical principles in research, were carried out. Nowadays, animal testing is in a major crossroads, that will decide it's immediate future. It makes possible to open very complex ethical debates that are in a greater or lesser extent, reflected in laws that try to regulate this field of knowledge. The use of animals for scientific purposes, brings together moral and philosophical problems that remain to be solved but no objective ethical criteria still exist although there is a general consensus that deliberate cruelty is unacceptable.
