REDES: DOS SENTIDOS ORIGINAIS À NATUREZA DAS REDES NAS AÇÕES COLETIVAS

Abstract

This article aims to present the multiple uses and meanings of the network concept, highlighting its possibilities of application for understanding a variety of different natures’ phenomena. The article is the result of a bibliographic research, dialoguing with several authors from the humanities. The structure of the text is based on three stages. Initially, it starts from the identification of the original meaning in antiquity until the explosion of meanings that the concept acquired in over the past four decades. Then, we try to demonstrate the breadth of uses and meanings of the network in contemporary science, highlighting the concept qualification procedure and the formulation of adjective concepts. In the third moment, the focus is the mapping of the network conceptions adopted for the compression of collective actions, highlighting their distinctive nature. In this sense, it proposes to follow the concept’s path, identifying and “mapping” uses and meanings and defining its application to collective specific actions.Este artigo objetiva apresentar os múltiplos usos e significações do conceito de rede, destacando suas possibilidades de aplicação para compreensão de uma variedade de fenômenos de naturezas distintas. O artigo é resultado de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, dialogando com vários autores das humanidades. O texto está estruturado em três momentos. Inicialmente, parte-se da identificação dos sentidos originais na antiguidade até a explosão de significados que o conceito adquiriu nas últimas quatro décadas. Em seguida, busca-se demonstrar a amplitude de usos e significações de rede na ciência contemporânea, destacando o procedimento de qualificação do conceito e a formulação de conceitos adjetivados. No terceiro momento, centrou-se no mapeamento das concepções de rede adotadas para compressão das ações coletivas, destacando a sua natureza distintiva. Nesse sentido, propõe-se a acompanhar o percurso do conceito, identificando e “mapeando” usos e significações e delimitando sua aplicação as ações coletivas em particular.
